first post: median statistics

posted 2009-10-19T20:48:35Z (apropos 2008-06-10).

this is my first post, and it will be one of many trying to "catch up" with all my favorite papers so far. at the same time, i will continue my daily literature searches and report on what else catches my attention as being particularly important in the grand scheme of things. i love median statistics because they're so robust. gott and colley's paper describes how they made a dead-on prediction of the 2004 U.S. presidential race by taking the median outcome of voter polls on a state-by-state basis. see Gott_Colley_MCM.pdf.
